This wine opens with an alluring bouquet of blackberry, marzipan, all spice and violets. With splashes of stylish dark fruit flavours and underlying marzipan that flood the mid palate with a rich silky presence through to a lovely rustic dark chocolate tannin finish.

Perfume of pepper, cola, leather and sweet spice. Has a slippery lovely flow of flavour, set to gentle sweetness. Finished with a tight tug of tannin and crisp acidity. Medium bodied, lengthy and with good anchors into the variety set between ‘Joven’ and more ‘reserve’ feeling styles.
The 2012 vintage was one of the most condensed seen in McLaren Vale with crushing completed by the end of March. The vintage was light in crop, but of excellent quality with Tempranillo having excellent colour and flavour. Harvest weather conditions, during February and March, saw cool nights but warm days ideal for grape development. In response to this, vineyards typically developed two weeks earlier than normal. By the start of March a large percentage of the district had already been harvested.
